CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
bonding: provide a net pointer to __skb_flow_dissect()
After 3cbf4ffba5ee ("net: plumb network namespace into __skb_flow_dissect")
we have to provide a net pointer to __skb_flow_dissect(),
either via skb->dev, skb->sk, or a user provided pointer.
In the following case, syzbot was able to cook a bare skb.

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
irqchip/gic-v3-its: Avoid truncating memory addresses
On 32-bit machines with CONFIG_ARM_LPAE, it is possible for lowmem
allocations to be backed by addresses physical memory above the 32-bit
address limit, as found while experimenting with larger VMSPLIT
configurations.
This caused the qemu virt model to crash in the GICv3 driver, which
allocates the 'itt' object using GFP_KERNEL. Since all memory below
the 4GB physical address limit is in ZONE_DMA in this configuration,
kmalloc() defaults to higher addresses for ZONE_NORMAL, and the
ITS driver stores the physical address in a 32-bit 'unsigned long'
variable.
Change the itt_addr variable to the correct phys_addr_t type instead,
along with all other variables in this driver that hold a physical
address.
The gicv5 driver correctly uses u64 variables, while all other irqchip
drivers don't call virt_to_phys or similar interfaces. It's expected that
other device drivers have similar issues, but fixing this one is
sufficient for booting a virtio based guest. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
can: kvaser_usb: kvaser_usb_read_bulk_callback(): fix URB memory leak
Fix similar memory leak as in commit 7352e1d5932a ("can: gs_usb:
gs_usb_receive_bulk_callback(): fix URB memory leak").
In kvaser_usb_set_{,data_}bittiming() -> kvaser_usb_setup_rx_urbs(), the
URBs for USB-in transfers are allocated, added to the dev->rx_submitted
anchor and submitted. In the complete callback
kvaser_usb_read_bulk_callback(), the URBs are processed and resubmitted. In
kvaser_usb_remove_interfaces() the URBs are freed by calling
usb_kill_anchored_urbs(&dev->rx_submitted).
However, this does not take into account that the USB framework unanchors
the URB before the complete function is called. This means that once an
in-URB has been completed, it is no longer anchored and is ultimately not
released in usb_kill_anchored_urbs().
Fix the memory leak by anchoring the URB in the
kvaser_usb_read_bulk_callback() to the dev->rx_submitted anchor. |

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
cgroup: Defer css percpu_ref kill on rmdir until cgroup is depopulated
A chain of commits going back to v7.0 reworked rmdir to satisfy the
controller invariant that a subsystem's ->css_offline() must not run while
tasks are still doing kernel-side work in the cgroup.
[1] d245698d727a ("cgroup: Defer task cgroup unlink until after the task is done switching out")
[2] a72f73c4dd9b ("cgroup: Don't expose dead tasks in cgroup")
[3] 1b164b876c36 ("cgroup: Wait for dying tasks to leave on rmdir")
[4] 4c56a8ac6869 ("cgroup: Fix cgroup_drain_dying() testing the wrong condition")
[5] 13e786b64bd3 ("cgroup: Increment nr_dying_subsys_* from rmdir context")
[1] moved task cset unlink from do_exit() to finish_task_switch() so a
task's cset link drops only after the task has fully stopped scheduling.
That made tasks past exit_signals() linger on cset->tasks until their final
context switch, which led to a series of problems as what userspace expected
to see after rmdir diverged from what the kernel needs to wait for. [2]-[5]
tried to bridge that divergence: [2] filtered the exiting tasks from
cgroup.procs; [3] had rmdir(2) sleep in TASK_UNINTERRUPTIBLE for them; [4]
fixed the wait's condition; [5] made nr_dying_subsys_* visible
synchronously.
The cgroup_drain_dying() wait in [3] turned out to be a dead end. When the
rmdir caller is also the reaper of a zombie that pins a pidns teardown (e.g.
host PID 1 systemd reaping orphan pids that were re-parented to it during
the same teardown), rmdir blocks in TASK_UNINTERRUPTIBLE waiting for those
pids to free, the pids can't free because PID 1 is the reaper and it's stuck
in rmdir, and the system A-A deadlocks. No internal lock ordering breaks
this; the wait itself is the bug.
The css killing side that drove the original reorder, however, can be made
cleanly asynchronous: ->css_offline() is already async, run from
css_killed_work_fn() driven by percpu_ref_kill_and_confirm(). The fix is to
make that chain start only after all tasks have left the cgroup. rmdir's
user-visible side then returns as soon as cgroup.procs and friends are
empty, while ->css_offline() still runs only after the cgroup is fully
drained.
Verified by the original reproducer (pidns teardown + zombie reaper, runs
under vng) which hangs vanilla and succeeds here, and by per-commit
deterministic repros for [2], [3], [4], [5] with a boot parameter that
widens the post-exit_signals() window so each state is reliably reachable.
Some stress tests on top of that.
cgroup_apply_control_disable() has the same shape of pre-existing race:
when a controller is disabled via subtree_control, kill_css() ran
synchronously while tasks past exit_signals() could still be linked to
the cgroup's csets, and ->css_offline() could fire before they drained.
This patch preserves the existing synchronous behavior at that call site
(kill_css_sync() + kill_css_finish() back-to-back) and a follow-up patch
will defer kill_css_finish() there using a per-css trigger.
This seems like the right approach and I don't see problems with it. The
changes are somewhat invasive but not excessively so, so backporting to
-stable should be okay. If something does turn out to be wrong, the fallback
is to revert the entire chain ([1]-[5]) and rework in the development branch
instead.
v2: Pin cgrp across the deferred destroy work with explicit
cgroup_get()/cgroup_put() around queue_work() and the work_fn. v1
wasn't actually broken (ordered cgroup_offline_wq + queue_work order
in cgroup_task_dead() saved it) but the explicit ref removes the
dependency on those non-obvious invariants. Also note the
pre-existing cgroup_apply_control_disable() race in the description;
a follow-up will defer kill_css_finish() there. |

atm: clip: Fix infinite recursive call of clip_push().
syzbot reported the splat below. [0]
This happens if we call ioctl(ATMARP_MKIP) more than once.
During the first call, clip_mkip() sets clip_push() to vcc->push(),
and the second call copies it to clip_vcc->old_push().
Later, when the socket is close()d, vcc_destroy_socket() passes
NULL skb to clip_push(), which calls clip_vcc->old_push(),
triggering the infinite recursion.
Let's prevent the second ioctl(ATMARP_MKIP) by checking
vcc->user_back, which is allocated by the first call as clip_vcc.
Note also that we use lock_sock() to prevent racy calls.

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
bpf: Do not let BPF test infra emit invalid GSO types to stack
Yinhao et al. reported that their fuzzer tool was able to trigger a
skb_warn_bad_offload() from netif_skb_features() -> gso_features_check().
When a BPF program - triggered via BPF test infra - pushes the packet
to the loopback device via bpf_clone_redirect() then mentioned offload
warning can be seen. GSO-related features are then rightfully disabled.
We get into this situation due to convert___skb_to_skb() setting
gso_segs and gso_size but not gso_type. Technically, it makes sense
that this warning triggers since the GSO properties are malformed due
to the gso_type. Potentially, the gso_type could be marked non-trustworthy
through setting it at least to SKB_GSO_DODGY without any other specific
assumptions, but that also feels wrong given we should not go further
into the GSO engine in the first place.
The checks were added in 121d57af308d ("gso: validate gso_type in GSO
handlers") because there were malicious (syzbot) senders that combine
a protocol with a non-matching gso_type. If we would want to drop such
packets, gso_features_check() currently only returns feature flags via
netif_skb_features(), so one location for potentially dropping such skbs
could be validate_xmit_unreadable_skb(), but then otoh it would be
an additional check in the fast-path for a very corner case. Given
bpf_clone_redirect() is the only place where BPF test infra could emit
such packets, lets reject them right there. |

| Adobe Experience Manager Forms JEE versions LTS SP1, 6.5.24.0 and earlier are affected by a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability that could be abused by an attacker to inject malicious scripts into vulnerable form fields. Malicious JavaScript may be executed in a victim's browser when they browse to the page containing the vulnerable field, potentially gaining elevated access or control over the victim's account or session. Scope is changed. |
| Adobe Experience Manager Forms JEE versions LTS SP1, 6.5.24.0 and earlier are affected by a reflected Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability to inject malicious scripts into a web page, potentially gaining elevated access or control over the victim's account or session. Exploit depends on conditions beyond the attacker's control. Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction in that a victim must visit a maliciously crafted URL or interact with a compromised web page. Scope is changed. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
riscv: kvm: fix vector context allocation leak
When the second kzalloc (host_context.vector.datap) fails in
kvm_riscv_vcpu_alloc_vector_context, the first allocation
(guest_context.vector.datap) is leaked. Free it before returning. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
spi: microchip-core-qspi: don't attempt to transmit during emulated read-only dual/quad operations
The core will deal with reads by creating clock cycles itself, there's
no need to generate clock cycles by transmitting garbage data at the
driver level. Further, transmitting garbage data just bricks the transfer
since QSPI doesn't have a dedicated master-out line like MOSI in regular
SPI. I'm not entirely sure if the transfer is bricked because of the
garbage data being transmitted on the bus or because the core loses
track of whether it is supposed to be sending or receiving data. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
pseries/papr-hvpipe: Prevent kernel stack memory leak to userspace
The hdr variable is allocated on the stack and only hdr.version and
hdr.flags are initialized explicitly. Because the struct papr_hvpipe_hdr
contains reserved padding bytes (reserved[3] and reserved2[40]), these
could leak the uninitialized bytes to userspace after copy_to_user().
This patch fixes that by initializing the whole struct to 0. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ASoC: SOF: Don't allow pointer operations on unconfigured streams
When reporting the pointer for a compressed stream we report the current
I/O frame position by dividing the position by the number of channels
multiplied by the number of container bytes. These values default to 0 and
are only configured as part of setting the stream parameters so this allows
a divide by zero to be configured. Validate that they are non zero,
returning an error if not |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
RDMA/vmw_pvrdma: Fix double free on pvrdma_alloc_ucontext() error path
Sashiko points out that pvrdma_uar_free() is already called within
pvrdma_dealloc_ucontext(), so calling it before triggers a double free. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
wifi: rsi: fix kthread lifetime race between self-exit and external-stop
RSI driver use both self-exit(kthread_complete_and_exit) and external-stop
(kthread_stop) when killing a kthread. Generally, kthread_stop() is called
first, and in this case, no particular issues occur.
However, in rare instances where kthread_complete_and_exit() is called
first and then kthread_stop() is called, a UAF occurs because the kthread
object, which has already exited and been freed, is accessed again.
Therefore, to prevent this with minimal modification, you must remove
kthread_stop() and change the code to wait until the self-exit operation
is completed. |
