CVE-2026-31407 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-01 7.1 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: conntrack: add missing netlink policy validations Hyunwoo Kim reports out-of-bounds access in sctp and ctnetlink. These attributes are used by the kernel without any validation. Extend the netlink policies accordingly. Quoting the reporter: nlattr_to_sctp() assigns the user-supplied CTA_PROTOINFO_SCTP_STATE value directly to ct->proto.sctp.state without checking that it is within the valid range. [..] and: ... with exp->dir = 100, the access at ct->master->tuplehash[100] reads 5600 bytes past the start of a 320-byte nf_conn object, causing a slab-out-of-bounds read confirmed by UBSAN.
CVE-2026-23468 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-01 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amdgpu: Limit BO list entry count to prevent resource exhaustion Userspace can pass an arbitrary number of BO list entries via the bo_number field. Although the previous multiplication overflow check prevents out-of-bounds allocation, a large number of entries could still cause excessive memory allocation (up to potentially gigabytes) and unnecessarily long list processing times. Introduce a hard limit of 128k entries per BO list, which is more than sufficient for any realistic use case (e.g., a single list containing all buffers in a large scene). This prevents memory exhaustion attacks and ensures predictable performance. Return -EINVAL if the requested entry count exceeds the limit (cherry picked from commit 688b87d39e0aa8135105b40dc167d74b5ada5332)
CVE-2026-23444 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-01 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: mac80211: always free skb on ieee80211_tx_prepare_skb() failure ieee80211_tx_prepare_skb() has three error paths, but only two of them free the skb. The first error path (ieee80211_tx_prepare() returning TX_DROP) does not free it, while invoke_tx_handlers() failure and the fragmentation check both do. Add kfree_skb() to the first error path so all three are consistent, and remove the now-redundant frees in callers (ath9k, mt76, mac80211_hwsim) to avoid double-free. Document the skb ownership guarantee in the function's kdoc.
CVE-2026-23442 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-01 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipv6: add NULL checks for idev in SRv6 paths __in6_dev_get() can return NULL when the device has no IPv6 configuration (e.g. MTU < IPV6_MIN_MTU or after NETDEV_UNREGISTER). Add NULL checks for idev returned by __in6_dev_get() in both seg6_hmac_validate_skb() and ipv6_srh_rcv() to prevent potential NULL pointer dereferences.

CVE-2026-23389 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-01 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ice: Fix memory leak in ice_set_ringparam() In ice_set_ringparam, tx_rings and xdp_rings are allocated before rx_rings. If the allocation of rx_rings fails, the code jumps to the done label leaking both tx_rings and xdp_rings. Furthermore, if the setup of an individual Rx ring fails during the loop, the code jumps to the free_tx label which releases tx_rings but leaks xdp_rings. Fix this by introducing a free_xdp label and updating the error paths to ensure both xdp_rings and tx_rings are properly freed if rx_rings allocation or setup fails. Compile tested only. Issue found using a prototype static analysis tool and code review.
CVE-2026-23255 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-01 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: add proper RCU protection to /proc/net/ptype Yin Fengwei reported an RCU stall in ptype_seq_show() and provided a patch. Real issue is that ptype_seq_next() and ptype_seq_show() violate RCU rules. ptype_seq_show() runs under rcu_read_lock(), and reads pt->dev to get device name without any barrier. At the same time, concurrent writers can remove a packet_type structure (which is correctly freed after an RCU grace period) and clear pt->dev without an RCU grace period. Define ptype_iter_state to carry a dev pointer along seq_net_private: struct ptype_iter_state { struct seq_net_private p; struct net_device *dev; // added in this patch }; We need to record the device pointer in ptype_get_idx() and ptype_seq_next() so that ptype_seq_show() is safe against concurrent pt->dev changes. We also need to add full RCU protection in ptype_seq_next(). (Missing READ_ONCE() when reading list.next values) Many thanks to Dong Chenchen for providing a repro.
CVE-2026-23157 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-01 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: btrfs: do not strictly require dirty metadata threshold for metadata writepages [BUG] There is an internal report that over 1000 processes are waiting at the io_schedule_timeout() of balance_dirty_pages(), causing a system hang and trigger a kernel coredump. The kernel is v6.4 kernel based, but the root problem still applies to any upstream kernel before v6.18. [CAUSE] From Jan Kara for his wisdom on the dirty page balance behavior first. This cgroup dirty limit was what was actually playing the role here because the cgroup had only a small amount of memory and so the dirty limit for it was something like 16MB. Dirty throttling is responsible for enforcing that nobody can dirty (significantly) more dirty memory than there's dirty limit. Thus when a task is dirtying pages it periodically enters into balance_dirty_pages() and we let it sleep there to slow down the dirtying. When the system is over dirty limit already (either globally or within a cgroup of the running task), we will not let the task exit from balance_dirty_pages() until the number of dirty pages drops below the limit. So in this particular case, as I already mentioned, there was a cgroup with relatively small amount of memory and as a result with dirty limit set at 16MB. A task from that cgroup has dirtied about 28MB worth of pages in btrfs btree inode and these were practically the only dirty pages in that cgroup. So that means the only way to reduce the dirty pages of that cgroup is to writeback the dirty pages of btrfs btree inode, and only after that those processes can exit balance_dirty_pages(). Now back to the btrfs part, btree_writepages() is responsible for writing back dirty btree inode pages. The problem here is, there is a btrfs internal threshold that if the btree inode's dirty bytes are below the 32M threshold, it will not do any writeback. This behavior is to batch as much metadata as possible so we won't write back those tree blocks and then later re-COW them again for another modification. This internal 32MiB is higher than the existing dirty page size (28MiB), meaning no writeback will happen, causing a deadlock between btrfs and cgroup: - Btrfs doesn't want to write back btree inode until more dirty pages - Cgroup/MM doesn't want more dirty pages for btrfs btree inode Thus any process touching that btree inode is put into sleep until the number of dirty pages is reduced. Thanks Jan Kara a lot for the analysis of the root cause. [ENHANCEMENT] Since kernel commit b55102826d7d ("btrfs: set AS_KERNEL_FILE on the btree_inode"), btrfs btree inode pages will only be charged to the root cgroup which should have a much larger limit than btrfs' 32MiB threshold. So it should not affect newer kernels. But for all current LTS kernels, they are all affected by this problem, and backporting the whole AS_KERNEL_FILE may not be a good idea. Even for newer kernels I still think it's a good idea to get rid of the internal threshold at btree_writepages(), since for most cases cgroup/MM has a better view of full system memory usage than btrfs' fixed threshold. For internal callers using btrfs_btree_balance_dirty() since that function is already doing internal threshold check, we don't need to bother them. But for external callers of btree_writepages(), just respect their requests and write back whatever they want, ignoring the internal btrfs threshold to avoid such deadlock on btree inode dirty page balancing.
CVE-2026-23141 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-01 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: btrfs: send: check for inline extents in range_is_hole_in_parent() Before accessing the disk_bytenr field of a file extent item we need to check if we are dealing with an inline extent. This is because for inline extents their data starts at the offset of the disk_bytenr field. So accessing the disk_bytenr means we are accessing inline data or in case the inline data is less than 8 bytes we can actually cause an invalid memory access if this inline extent item is the first item in the leaf or access metadata from other items.
CVE-2026-23066 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-01 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: rxrpc: Fix recvmsg() unconditional requeue If rxrpc_recvmsg() fails because MSG_DONTWAIT was specified but the call at the front of the recvmsg queue already has its mutex locked, it requeues the call - whether or not the call is already queued. The call may be on the queue because MSG_PEEK was also passed and so the call was not dequeued or because the I/O thread requeued it. The unconditional requeue may then corrupt the recvmsg queue, leading to things like UAFs or refcount underruns. Fix this by only requeuing the call if it isn't already on the queue - and moving it to the front if it is already queued. If we don't queue it, we have to put the ref we obtained by dequeuing it. Also, MSG_PEEK doesn't dequeue the call so shouldn't call rxrpc_notify_socket() for the call if we didn't use up all the data on the queue, so fix that also.
CVE-2025-68307 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-01 7.0 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: can: gs_usb: gs_usb_xmit_callback(): fix handling of failed transmitted URBs The driver lacks the cleanup of failed transfers of URBs. This reduces the number of available URBs per error by 1. This leads to reduced performance and ultimately to a complete stop of the transmission. If the sending of a bulk URB fails do proper cleanup: - increase netdev stats - mark the echo_sbk as free - free the driver's context and do accounting - wake the send queue
CVE-2025-68239 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-01 7.0 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: binfmt_misc: restore write access before closing files opened by open_exec() bm_register_write() opens an executable file using open_exec(), which internally calls do_open_execat() and denies write access on the file to avoid modification while it is being executed. However, when an error occurs, bm_register_write() closes the file using filp_close() directly. This does not restore the write permission, which may cause subsequent write operations on the same file to fail. Fix this by calling exe_file_allow_write_access() before filp_close() to restore the write permission properly.
CVE-2025-68201 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-01 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amdgpu: remove two invalid BUG_ON()s Those can be triggered trivially by userspace.
CVE-2025-40005 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-01 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: spi: cadence-quadspi: Implement refcount to handle unbind during busy driver support indirect read and indirect write operation with assumption no force device removal(unbind) operation. However force device removal(removal) is still available to root superuser. Unbinding driver during operation causes kernel crash. This changes ensure driver able to handle such operation for indirect read and indirect write by implementing refcount to track attached devices to the controller and gracefully wait and until attached devices remove operation completed before proceed with removal operation.
CVE-2025-39997 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-01 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: usb-audio: fix race condition to UAF in snd_usbmidi_free The previous commit 0718a78f6a9f ("ALSA: usb-audio: Kill timer properly at removal") patched a UAF issue caused by the error timer. However, because the error timer kill added in this patch occurs after the endpoint delete, a race condition to UAF still occurs, albeit rarely. Additionally, since kill-cleanup for urb is also missing, freed memory can be accessed in interrupt context related to urb, which can cause UAF. Therefore, to prevent this, error timer and urb must be killed before freeing the heap memory.
CVE-2025-38626 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-01 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: f2fs: fix to trigger foreground gc during f2fs_map_blocks() in lfs mode w/ "mode=lfs" mount option, generic/299 will cause system panic as below: ------------[ cut here ]------------ kernel BUG at fs/f2fs/segment.c:2835! Call Trace: <TASK> f2fs_allocate_data_block+0x6f4/0xc50 f2fs_map_blocks+0x970/0x1550 f2fs_iomap_begin+0xb2/0x1e0 iomap_iter+0x1d6/0x430 __iomap_dio_rw+0x208/0x9a0 f2fs_file_write_iter+0x6b3/0xfa0 aio_write+0x15d/0x2e0 io_submit_one+0x55e/0xab0 __x64_sys_io_submit+0xa5/0x230 do_syscall_64+0x84/0x2f0 entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x76/0x7e RIP: 0010:new_curseg+0x70f/0x720 The root cause of we run out-of-space is: in f2fs_map_blocks(), f2fs may trigger foreground gc only if it allocates any physical block, it will be a little bit later when there is multiple threads writing data w/ aio/dio/bufio method in parallel, since we always use OPU in lfs mode, so f2fs_map_blocks() does block allocations aggressively. In order to fix this issue, let's give a chance to trigger foreground gc in prior to block allocation in f2fs_map_blocks().
CVE-2025-38105 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-01 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: usb-audio: Kill timer properly at removal The USB-audio MIDI code initializes the timer, but in a rare case, the driver might be freed without the disconnect call. This leaves the timer in an active state while the assigned object is released via snd_usbmidi_free(), which ends up with a kernel warning when the debug configuration is enabled, as spotted by fuzzer. For avoiding the problem, put timer_shutdown_sync() at snd_usbmidi_free(), so that the timer can be killed properly. While we're at it, replace the existing timer_delete_sync() at the disconnect callback with timer_shutdown_sync(), too.
CVE-2025-37864 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-01 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: dsa: clean up FDB, MDB, VLAN entries on unbind As explained in many places such as commit b117e1e8a86d ("net: dsa: delete dsa_legacy_fdb_add and dsa_legacy_fdb_del"), DSA is written given the assumption that higher layers have balanced additions/deletions. As such, it only makes sense to be extremely vocal when those assumptions are violated and the driver unbinds with entries still present. But Ido Schimmel points out a very simple situation where that is wrong: https://lore.kernel.org/netdev/ZDazSM5UsPPjQuKr@shredder/ (also briefly discussed by me in the aforementioned commit). Basically, while the bridge bypass operations are not something that DSA explicitly documents, and for the majority of DSA drivers this API simply causes them to go to promiscuous mode, that isn't the case for all drivers. Some have the necessary requirements for bridge bypass operations to do something useful - see dsa_switch_supports_uc_filtering(). Although in tools/testing/selftests/net/forwarding/local_termination.sh, we made an effort to popularize better mechanisms to manage address filters on DSA interfaces from user space - namely macvlan for unicast, and setsockopt(IP_ADD_MEMBERSHIP) - through mtools - for multicast, the fact is that 'bridge fdb add ... self static local' also exists as kernel UAPI, and might be useful to someone, even if only for a quick hack. It seems counter-productive to block that path by implementing shim .ndo_fdb_add and .ndo_fdb_del operations which just return -EOPNOTSUPP in order to prevent the ndo_dflt_fdb_add() and ndo_dflt_fdb_del() from running, although we could do that. Accepting that cleanup is necessary seems to be the only option. Especially since we appear to be coming back at this from a different angle as well. Russell King is noticing that the WARN_ON() triggers even for VLANs: https://lore.kernel.org/netdev/Z_li8Bj8bD4-BYKQ@shell.armlinux.org.uk/ What happens in the bug report above is that dsa_port_do_vlan_del() fails, then the VLAN entry lingers on, and then we warn on unbind and leak it. This is not a straight revert of the blamed commit, but we now add an informational print to the kernel log (to still have a way to see that bugs exist), and some extra comments gathered from past years' experience, to justify the logic.
CVE-2025-22107 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-01 7.1 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: dsa: sja1105: fix kasan out-of-bounds warning in sja1105_table_delete_entry() There are actually 2 problems: - deleting the last element doesn't require the memmove of elements [i + 1, end) over it. Actually, element i+1 is out of bounds. - The memmove itself should move size - i - 1 elements, because the last element is out of bounds. The out-of-bounds element still remains out of bounds after being accessed, so the problem is only that we touch it, not that it becomes in active use. But I suppose it can lead to issues if the out-of-bounds element is part of an unmapped page.
CVE-2025-21739 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-01 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: ufs: core: Fix use-after free in init error and remove paths devm_blk_crypto_profile_init() registers a cleanup handler to run when the associated (platform-) device is being released. For UFS, the crypto private data and pointers are stored as part of the ufs_hba's data structure 'struct ufs_hba::crypto_profile'. This structure is allocated as part of the underlying ufshcd and therefore Scsi_host allocation. During driver release or during error handling in ufshcd_pltfrm_init(), this structure is released as part of ufshcd_dealloc_host() before the (platform-) device associated with the crypto call above is released. Once this device is released, the crypto cleanup code will run, using the just-released 'struct ufs_hba::crypto_profile'. This causes a use-after-free situation: Call trace: kfree+0x60/0x2d8 (P) kvfree+0x44/0x60 blk_crypto_profile_destroy_callback+0x28/0x70 devm_action_release+0x1c/0x30 release_nodes+0x6c/0x108 devres_release_all+0x98/0x100 device_unbind_cleanup+0x20/0x70 really_probe+0x218/0x2d0 In other words, the initialisation code flow is: platform-device probe ufshcd_pltfrm_init() ufshcd_alloc_host() scsi_host_alloc() allocation of struct ufs_hba creation of scsi-host devices devm_blk_crypto_profile_init() devm registration of cleanup handler using platform-device and during error handling of ufshcd_pltfrm_init() or during driver removal: ufshcd_dealloc_host() scsi_host_put() put_device(scsi-host) release of struct ufs_hba put_device(platform-device) crypto cleanup handler To fix this use-after free, change ufshcd_alloc_host() to register a devres action to automatically cleanup the underlying SCSI device on ufshcd destruction, without requiring explicit calls to ufshcd_dealloc_host(). This way: * the crypto profile and all other ufs_hba-owned resources are destroyed before SCSI (as they've been registered after) * a memleak is plugged in tc-dwc-g210-pci.c remove() as a side-effect * EXPORT_SYMBOL_GPL(ufshcd_dealloc_host) can be removed fully as it's not needed anymore * no future drivers using ufshcd_alloc_host() could ever forget adding the cleanup
