CVE-2024-36922 2 Linux, Redhat 3 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux, Rhel Eus 2026-08-04 8.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: iwlwifi: read txq->read_ptr under lock If we read txq->read_ptr without lock, we can read the same value twice, then obtain the lock, and reclaim from there to two different places, but crucially reclaim the same entry twice, resulting in the WARN_ONCE() a little later. Fix that by reading txq->read_ptr under lock.

CVE-2022-49998 2 Linux, Redhat 2 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux 2026-08-04 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: rxrpc: Fix locking in rxrpc's sendmsg Fix three bugs in the rxrpc's sendmsg implementation: (1) rxrpc_new_client_call() should release the socket lock when returning an error from rxrpc_get_call_slot(). (2) rxrpc_wait_for_tx_window_intr() will return without the call mutex held in the event that we're interrupted by a signal whilst waiting for tx space on the socket or relocking the call mutex afterwards. Fix this by: (a) moving the unlock/lock of the call mutex up to rxrpc_send_data() such that the lock is not held around all of rxrpc_wait_for_tx_window*() and (b) indicating to higher callers whether we're return with the lock dropped. Note that this means recvmsg() will not block on this call whilst we're waiting. (3) After dropping and regaining the call mutex, rxrpc_send_data() needs to go and recheck the state of the tx_pending buffer and the tx_total_len check in case we raced with another sendmsg() on the same call. Thinking on this some more, it might make sense to have different locks for sendmsg() and recvmsg(). There's probably no need to make recvmsg() wait for sendmsg(). It does mean that recvmsg() can return MSG_EOR indicating that a call is dead before a sendmsg() to that call returns - but that can currently happen anyway. Without fix (2), something like the following can be induced: WARNING: bad unlock balance detected! 5.16.0-rc6-syzkaller #0 Not tainted ------------------------------------- syz-executor011/3597 is trying to release lock (&call->user_mutex) at: [<ffffffff885163a3>] rxrpc_do_sendmsg+0xc13/0x1350 net/rxrpc/sendmsg.c:748 but there are no more locks to release! other info that might help us debug this: no locks held by syz-executor011/3597. ... CVE-2025-21827 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-07-30 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: btusb: mediatek: Add locks for usb_driver_claim_interface() The documentation for usb_driver_claim_interface() says that "the device lock" is needed when the function is called from places other than probe(). This appears to be the lock for the USB interface device. The Mediatek btusb code gets called via this path: Workqueue: hci0 hci_power_on [bluetooth] Call trace: usb_driver_claim_interface btusb_mtk_claim_iso_intf btusb_mtk_setup hci_dev_open_sync hci_power_on process_scheduled_works worker_thread kthread With the above call trace the device lock hasn't been claimed. Claim it. Without this fix, we'd sometimes see the error "Failed to claim iso interface". Sometimes we'd even see worse errors, like a NULL pointer dereference (where `intf->dev.driver` was NULL) with a trace like: Call trace: usb_suspend_both usb_runtime_suspend __rpm_callback rpm_suspend pm_runtime_work process_scheduled_works Both errors appear to be fixed with the proper locking.

CVE-2026-53358 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-07-18 8.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: L2CAP: use chan timer to close channels in cleanup_listen() l2cap_chan_close() removes the channel from conn->chan_l, which must be done under conn->lock. cleanup_listen() runs under the parent sk_lock, so acquiring conn->lock would invert the established conn->lock -> chan->lock -> sk_lock order. Instead of calling l2cap_chan_close() directly, schedule l2cap_chan_timeout with delay 0 to close the channel asynchronously. The timeout handler already acquires conn->lock and chan->lock in the correct order. The timer is only armed when chan->conn is still set: if it is already NULL, l2cap_conn_del() has already processed this channel (l2cap_chan_del + l2cap_sock_teardown_cb + l2cap_sock_close_cb), so there is nothing left to do. If l2cap_conn_del() races in after the timer is armed, __clear_chan_timer() inside l2cap_chan_del() cancels it; if the timer has already fired, the handler returns harmlessly because chan->conn was cleared.
CVE-2026-46252 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-07-04 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: regulator: core: fix locking in regulator_resolve_supply() error path If late enabling of a supply regulator fails in regulator_resolve_supply(), the code currently triggers a lockdep warning: WARNING: drivers/regulator/core.c:2649 at _regulator_put+0x80/0xa0, CPU#6: kworker/u32:4/596 ... To solve this, simply switch to using regulator_put(). While at it, we should also make sure that no concurrent access happens to our rdev while we clear out the supply pointer. Add appropriate locking to ensure that. While the code in question will be removed altogether in a follow-up commit, I believe it is still beneficial to have this corrected before removal for future reference.

CVE-2026-46056 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-19 8.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: hci_event: fix potential UAF in SSP passkey handlers hci_conn lookup and field access must be covered by hdev lock in hci_user_passkey_notify_evt() and hci_keypress_notify_evt(), otherwise the connection can be freed concurrently. CVE-2026-46183 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-11 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/damon/sysfs-schemes: protect path kfree() with damon_sysfs_lock damon_sysfs_quot_goal->path can be read and written by users, via DAMON sysfs 'path' file. It can also be indirectly read, for the parameters {on,off}line committing to DAMON. The reads for parameters committing are protected by damon_sysfs_lock to avoid the sysfs files being destroyed while any of the parameters are being read. But the user-driven direct reads and writes are not protected by any lock, while the write is deallocating the path-pointing buffer. As a result, the readers could read the already freed buffer (user-after-free). Note that the user-reads don't race when the same open file is used by the writer, due to kernfs's open file locking. Nonetheless, doing the reads and writes with separate open files would be common. Fix it by protecting both the user-direct reads and writes with damon_sysfs_lock.

Every expiry triggers BUG: sleeping function called from invalid context at kernel/locking/mutex.c:591 Call Trace: <IRQ> __might_resched __mutex_lock backlight_device_set_brightness appletb_inactivity_timer call_timer_fn run_timer_softirq * reset_inactivity_timer() is called from appletb_kbd_hid_event() and appletb_kbd_inp_event(). On real USB hardware these run in softirq/IRQ context (URB completion and input-event dispatch). When the Touch Bar has already been dimmed or turned off, the reset path calls backlight_device_set_brightness() directly to restore brightness, producing the same warning. Both call sites hit the same mutex_lock()-from-atomic bug. Fix them together by moving the blocking work onto the system workqueue: * Convert the inactivity timer from struct timer_list to struct delayed_work; the callback (appletb_inactivity_work) now runs in process context where mutex_lock() is legal. * Add a dedicated struct work_struct restore_brightness_work and have reset_inactivity_timer() schedule it instead of calling backlight_device_set_brightness() directly. Cancel both works synchronously during driver tear-down alongside the existing backlight reference drop. The semantics are unchanged (same delays, same state transitions on dim, turn-off and user activity); only the execution context of the sleeping call changes. The timer field and callback are renamed to match their new type; reset_inactivity_timer() keeps its name because it is invoked from input event paths that read naturally as "reset the inactivity timer".
