CVE-2026-53309 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-13 9.8 Critical
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ocfs2/dlm: fix off-by-one in dlm_match_regions() region comparison The local-vs-remote region comparison loop uses '<=' instead of '<', causing it to read one entry past the valid range of qr_regions. The other loops in the same function correctly use '<'. Fix the loop condition to use '<' for consistency and correctness.
CVE-2026-53321 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-13 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: io_uring/napi: cap busy_poll_to 10 msec Currently there's no cap on the maximum amount of time that napi is allowed to poll if no events are found, which can lead to kernel complaints on a task being stuck as there's no conditional rescheduling done within that loop. Just cap it to 10 msec in total, that's already way above any kind of sane value that will reap any benefits, yet low enough that it's nowhere near being able to trigger preemption complaints.
CVE-2026-53238 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-13 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netlabel: validate unlabeled address and mask attribute lengths netlbl_unlabel_addrinfo_get() used the address attribute length to determine whether the attribute data could be read as an IPv4 or IPv6 address, but did not independently validate the corresponding mask attribute length. A crafted Generic Netlink request could therefore provide a valid IPv4/IPv6 address attribute with a shorter mask attribute, which would later be read as a full struct in_addr or struct in6_addr. NLA_BINARY policy lengths are maximum lengths by default, so use NLA_POLICY_EXACT_LEN() for the unlabeled IPv4/IPv6 address and mask attributes. This rejects short attributes during policy validation and also exposes the exact length requirements through policy introspection.
CVE-2026-53253 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-13 7.1 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: bnep: reject short frames before parsing A BNEP peer can send a short BNEP SDU. bnep_rx_frame() reads the packet type byte immediately and, for control packets, reads the control opcode and setup UUID-size byte before proving that those bytes are present. bnep_rx_control() also dereferences the control opcode without rejecting an empty control payload. Use skb_pull_data() for the fixed fields in bnep_rx_frame() so a NULL return gates each dereference. Split the control handler so the frame path can pass an opcode that has already been pulled, and keep the byte-buffer wrapper for extension control payloads. For BNEP_SETUP_CONN_REQ, name the UUID-size byte before pulling the setup payload. struct bnep_setup_conn_req carries destination and source service UUIDs after that byte, each uuid_size bytes, so the parser now documents that tuple explicitly instead of leaving the pull length as an opaque multiplication. Validation reproduced this kernel report: KASAN slab-out-of-bounds in bnep_rx_frame.isra.0+0x130c/0x1790 The buggy address belongs to the object at ffff88800c0f7908 which belongs to the cache kmalloc-8 of size 8 The buggy address is located 0 bytes to the right of allocated 1-byte region [ffff88800c0f7908, ffff88800c0f7909) Read of size 1 Call trace: dump_stack_lvl+0xb3/0x140 (?:?) print_address_description+0x57/0x3a0 (?:?) bnep_rx_frame+0x130c/0x1790 (net/bluetooth/bnep/core.c:306) print_report+0xb9/0x2b0 (?:?) __virt_addr_valid+0x1ba/0x3a0 (?:?) srso_alias_return_thunk+0x5/0xfbef5 (?:?) kasan_addr_to_slab+0x21/0x60 (?:?) kasan_report+0xe0/0x110 (?:?) process_one_work+0xfce/0x17e0 (kernel/workqueue.c:3200) worker_thread+0x65c/0xe40 (?:?) __kthread_parkme+0x184/0x230 (?:?) kthread+0x35e/0x470 (?:?) _raw_spin_unlock_irq+0x28/0x50 (?:?) ret_from_fork+0x586/0x870 (?:?) __switch_to+0x74f/0xdc0 (?:?) ret_from_fork_asm+0x1a/0x30 (?:?)
CVE-2026-53269 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-13 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: synproxy: add mutex to guard hook reference counting As the synproxy infrastructure register netfilter hooks on-demand when a user adds the first iptables target or nftables expression, if done concurrently they can race each other. Introduce a mutex to serialize the refcount control blocks access from both frontends. While a per namespace mutex might be more efficient, it is not needed for target/expression like SYNPROXY.
CVE-2026-53271 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-13 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: fix NULL-deref of opinfo->conn in oplock/lease break notifiers smb2_oplock_break_noti() and smb2_lease_break_noti() read opinfo->conn into a local with neither READ_ONCE() nor a NULL check. Both run from oplock_break() after opinfo_get_list() has dropped ci->m_lock, so a concurrent SMB2 LOGOFF (session_fd_check()) can set op->conn = NULL under ci->m_lock within that window. ksmbd_conn_r_count_inc(conn) then writes through NULL at offset 0xc4 -- a remotely triggerable oops. Guard both reads the way compare_guid_key() already does: read opinfo->conn with READ_ONCE() and return early if it is NULL, before allocating the work struct so nothing leaks. A NULL conn means the client is gone and the break is moot, so return 0; oplock_break() treats that as success and runs the normal teardown.
CVE-2026-53272 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-13 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: erofs: fix use-after-free on sbi->sync_decompress z_erofs_decompress_kickoff() can race with filesystem unmount, causing a use-after-free on sbi->sync_decompress. When I/O completes, z_erofs_endio() calls z_erofs_decompress_kickoff() to queue z_erofs_decompressqueue_work() asynchronously. Then, after all folios are unlocked, unmount workflow can proceed and sbi will be freed before accessing to sbi->sync_decompress. Thread (unmount) I/O completion kworker queue_work z_erofs_decompressqueue_work (all folios are unlocked) cleanup_mnt .. erofs_kill_sb erofs_sb_free kfree(sbi) access sbi->sync_decompress // UAF!!
CVE-2026-53314 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-13 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: padata: Put CPU offline callback in ONLINE section to allow failure syzbot reported the following warning: DEAD callback error for CPU1 WARNING: kernel/cpu.c:1463 at _cpu_down+0x759/0x1020 kernel/cpu.c:1463, CPU#0: syz.0.1960/14614 at commit 4ae12d8bd9a8 ("Merge tag 'kbuild-fixes-7.0-2' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/kbuild/linux") which tglx traced to padata_cpu_dead() given it's the only sub-CPUHP_TEARDOWN_CPU callback that returns an error. Failure isn't allowed in hotplug states before CPUHP_TEARDOWN_CPU so move the CPU offline callback to the ONLINE section where failure is possible.
CVE-2026-64226 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-13 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: sched_ext: Avoid UAF in scx_root_enable_workfn() init failure path In scx_root_enable_workfn(), put_task_struct(p) is called before scx_error() dereferences p->comm and p->pid. If the iterator's reference is the last drop, the task is freed synchronously and the deref becomes a UAF. Move put_task_struct() past scx_error().
CVE-2026-64227 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-13 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ACPI: driver: Check ACPI_COMPANION() against NULL during probe Since every platform driver can be forced to match a device that doesn't match its list of device IDs because of device_match_driver_override(), platform drivers that rely on the existence of a device's ACPI companion object should verify its presence. Accordingly, add requisite ACPI_COMPANION() or ACPI_HANDLE() checks against NULL to 13 platform drivers handling core ACPI devices. Also change the value returned by the ACPI thermal zone driver when the device's ACPI companion is not present to -ENODEV for consistency with the other drivers.
CVE-2026-64228 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-13 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: ethtool: phy: avoid NULL deref when PHY driver is unbound phydev->drv can become NULL while the phy_device is still attached to its net_device, namely after the PHY driver is unbound via sysfs: echo <mdio_id> > /sys/bus/mdio_bus/drivers/<phy_drv>/unbind phy_remove() clears phydev->drv but doesn't call phy_detach(), so the phy_device stays in the link topology xarray and ethnl_req_get_phydev() still hands it back. ETHTOOL_MSG_PHY_GET then oopses on: rep_data->drvname = kstrdup(phydev->drv->name, GFP_KERNEL); drvname is already treated as optional by phy_reply_size(), phy_fill_reply() and phy_cleanup_data(), so just skip the allocation when there is no driver bound.
CVE-2026-64229 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-13 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: x86/mm: Disable broadcast TLB flush when PCID is disabled Booting with "nopcid" clears X86_FEATURE_PCID and keeps CR4.PCIDE from being set to one. On AMD CPUs that support INVLPGB, broadcast TLB flushing remains enabled. There are two checks that decide whether the global ASID code runs, mm_global_asid() and consider_global_asid(), that key off of the X86_FEATURE_INVLPGB feature. Once an mm becomes active on more than three CPUs, consider_global_asid() assigns it a global ASID, after which flush_tlb_mm_range() takes the broadcast_tlb_flush() path using a non-zero PCID. Issuing an INVLPGB with a non-zero PCID while CR4.PCIDE is not set results in a #GP: Oops: general protection fault, kernel NULL pointer dereference 0x1: 0000 [#1] SMP NOPTI CPU: 158 UID: 0 PID: 3119 Comm: snap Not tainted 7.1.0-rc3 #1 PREEMPT(full) Hardware name: ... RIP: 0010:broadcast_tlb_flush Code: ... 89 da 48 83 c8 07 <0f> 01 fe eb 08 cc cc cc ... Call Trace: <TASK> flush_tlb_mm_range ptep_clear_flush wp_page_copy ? _raw_spin_unlock __handle_mm_fault handle_mm_fault do_user_addr_fault exc_page_fault asm_exc_page_fault All processors that support broadcast TLB invalidation also have PCID support, so it is only the "nopcid" scenario that is of concern. In this situation just disable the broadcast TLB support using the CPUID dependency support by making X86_FEATURE_INVLPGB dependent on X86_FEATURE_PCID. [ bp: Massage commit message. ]
CVE-2026-64238 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-13 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: gpio: shared: fix deadlock on shared proxy's parent removal Commit 710abda58055 ("gpio: shared: call gpio_chip::of_xlate() if set") used the mutex embedded in struct gpio_shared_entry to protect the offset field which now can be modified after assignment. The critical section however is too wide and introduced a potential deadlock on the removal of the shared GPIO proxy's parent. Make the critical section shorter - only protect the offset when it's being read. While at it: mention the fact that the entry lock is now also used to protect against concurrent access to the offset field in the structure's documentation.
CVE-2026-64232 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-13 9.8 Critical
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: block: recompute nr_integrity_segments in blk_insert_cloned_request blk_insert_cloned_request() already recomputes nr_phys_segments against the bottom queue, because "the queue settings related to segment counting may differ from the original queue." The exact same reasoning applies to integrity segments: a stacked driver's underlying queue can have tighter virt_boundary_mask, seg_boundary_mask, or max_segment_size than the top queue, in which case blk_rq_count_integrity_sg() against the bottom queue produces a different count than the cached rq->nr_integrity_segments inherited from the source request by blk_rq_prep_clone(). When the cached count is lower than the bottom queue's actual count, blk_rq_map_integrity_sg() trips BUG_ON(segments > rq->nr_integrity_segments); on dispatch. The same families of stacked setups that motivated the existing nr_phys_segments recompute -- dm-multipath fanning out to nvme-rdma in particular -- can produce this. Mirror the nr_phys_segments handling: when the request carries integrity, recompute nr_integrity_segments against the bottom queue and reject the request if it exceeds the bottom queue's max_integrity_segments. blk_rq_count_integrity_sg() and queue_max_integrity_segments() are both already available via <linux/blk-integrity.h>, which blk-mq.c includes. This closes a latent gap in the stacking contract and brings the integrity-segment accounting in line with the existing phys-segment accounting.
CVE-2026-68088 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-13 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usb: gadget: function: rndis: add length check to response query Add variable representations for BufLength and BufOffset in rndis_query_response(), and perform a length check on them. This is identical to how rndis_set_response() handles these parameters.
CVE-2026-68090 1 Linux 2 Kernel, Linux Kernel 2026-08-13 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: debugobjects: Plug race against a concurrent OOM disable syzbot reported a puzzling splat: WARNING: kernel/time/hrtimer.c:443 at stub_timer+0xa/0x20 stub_timer() is installed as timer callback function in hrtimer_fixup_assert_init(), which is invoked when debug_object_assert_init() can't find a shadow object. In that case debug objects emits a warning about it before invoking the fixup. Though the provided console log lacks this warning and instead has the following a few seconds before the splat: ODEBUG: Out of memory. ODEBUG disabled So the object was looked up in debug_object_assert_init() and the lookup failed due a concurrent out of memory situation which disabled debug objects and freed the shadow objects: debug_object_assert_init() if (!debug_objects_enabled) return; obj = alloc(); if (!obj) { // Out of memory debug_objects_enabled = false; free_objects(); obj = lookup_or_alloc(); // The lookup failed because the other side // removed the objects, so this returns // an error code as the object in question // is not statically initialized if (!IS_ERR_OR_NULL(obj)) return; if (!obj) { debug_oom(); return; } print(...) if (!debug_objects_enabled) return; fixup(...) The debug object splat is skipped because debug_objects_enabled is false, but the fixup callback is invoked unconditionally, which makes the timer disfunctional. This is only a problem in debug_object_assert_init() and debug_object_activate() as both have to handle statically initialized objects and therefore must handle the error pointer return case gracefully. All other places only handle the found/not found case and the NULL pointer return is a signal for OOM. Otherwise they get a valid shadow object. Plug the hole by checking whether debug objects are still enabled before invoking the print and fixup function in those two places.
CVE-2026-68238 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-13 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amdgpu: Release VFCT ACPI table reference amdgpu_acpi_vfct_bios() fetches the VFCT table with acpi_get_table() but never releases it. acpi_get_table() takes a reference on the table (incrementing its validation_count and mapping it on the 0->1 transition); without a paired acpi_put_table() the mapping is leaked on every call, whether or not a matching VBIOS image is found. Route all exit paths after the table is acquired through a common acpi_put_table(). The VBIOS image is copied out with kmemdup() before the table is released, so it remains valid for the caller. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/xe/rtp: Add RING_FORCE_TO_NONPRIV_DENY to OA whitelists Unconditionally whitelisting OA registers is a security violation. Set RING_FORCE_TO_NONPRIV_DENY bit in OA nonpriv slots, so that OA registers don't get whitelisted by default after probe, gt reset, resume and engine reset.
