CVE-2026-50256 2 Redhat, X.org 11 Enterprise Linux, Enterprise Linux Eus, Rhel Aus and 8 more 2026-08-04 7.8 High
A stack-based buffer overflow flaw was found in the X.Org X server and Xwayland. A mismatch between the X server and the libXfont2 library's maximum font name length can cause a stack buffer overflow during font alias resolution. The server allocates a 256 byte stack buffer but libXfont2's alias target name length is 1024 bytes. A font alias name between 257 and 1023 bytes causes the X server to copy that name into the undersized stack buffer without further checks. This may be used to crash the server, or for privilege escalation if the X server runs as root.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mptcp: cope racing subflow creation in mptcp_rcv_space_adjust Additional active subflows - i.e. created by the in kernel path manager - are included into the subflow list before starting the 3whs. A racing recvmsg() spooling data received on an already established subflow would unconditionally call tcp_cleanup_rbuf() on all the current subflows, potentially hitting a divide by zero error on the newly created ones. Explicitly check that the subflow is in a suitable state before invoking tcp_cleanup_rbuf().

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tun: add missing verification for short frame The cited commit missed to check against the validity of the frame length in the tun_xdp_one() path, which could cause a corrupted skb to be sent downstack. Even before the skb is transmitted, the tun_xdp_one-->eth_type_trans() may access the Ethernet header although it can be less than ETH_HLEN. Once transmitted, this could either cause out-of-bound access beyond the actual length, or confuse the underlayer with incorrect or inconsistent header length in the skb metadata. In the alternative path, tun_get_user() already prohibits short frame which has the length less than Ethernet header size from being transmitted for IFF_TAP. This is to drop any frame shorter than the Ethernet header size just like how tun_get_user() does. CVE: CVE-2024-41091

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tap: add missing verification for short frame The cited commit missed to check against the validity of the frame length in the tap_get_user_xdp() path, which could cause a corrupted skb to be sent downstack. Even before the skb is transmitted, the tap_get_user_xdp()-->skb_set_network_header() may assume the size is more than ETH_HLEN. Once transmitted, this could either cause out-of-bound access beyond the actual length, or confuse the underlayer with incorrect or inconsistent header length in the skb metadata. In the alternative path, tap_get_user() already prohibits short frame which has the length less than Ethernet header size from being transmitted. This is to drop any frame shorter than the Ethernet header size just like how tap_get_user() does. CVE: CVE-2024-41090

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xfs: add bounds checking to xlog_recover_process_data There is a lack of verification of the space occupied by fixed members of xlog_op_header in the xlog_recover_process_data. We can create a crafted image to trigger an out of bounds read by following these steps: 1) Mount an image of xfs, and do some file operations to leave records 2) Before umounting, copy the image for subsequent steps to simulate abnormal exit. Because umount will ensure that tail_blk and head_blk are the same, which will result in the inability to enter xlog_recover_process_data 3) Write a tool to parse and modify the copied image in step 2 4) Make the end of the xlog_op_header entries only 1 byte away from xlog_rec_header->h_size 5) xlog_rec_header->h_num_logops++ 6) Modify xlog_rec_header->h_crc Fix: Add a check to make sure there is sufficient space to access fixed members of xlog_op_header.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: i40e: fix vf may be used uninitialized in this function warning To fix the regression introduced by commit 52424f974bc5, which causes servers hang in very hard to reproduce conditions with resets races. Using two sources for the information is the root cause. In this function before the fix bumping v didn't mean bumping vf pointer. But the code used this variables interchangeably, so stale vf could point to different/not intended vf. Remove redundant "v" variable and iterate via single VF pointer across whole function instead to guarantee VF pointer validity.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipv6: fix race condition between ipv6_get_ifaddr and ipv6_del_addr Although ipv6_get_ifaddr walks inet6_addr_lst under the RCU lock, it still means hlist_for_each_entry_rcu can return an item that got removed from the list. The memory itself of such item is not freed thanks to RCU but nothing guarantees the actual content of the memory is sane. In particular, the reference count can be zero. This can happen if ipv6_del_addr is called in parallel. ipv6_del_addr removes the entry from inet6_addr_lst (hlist_del_init_rcu(&ifp->addr_lst)) and drops all references (__in6_ifa_put(ifp) + in6_ifa_put(ifp)). With bad enough timing, this can happen: 1. In ipv6_get_ifaddr, hlist_for_each_entry_rcu returns an entry. 2. Then, the whole ipv6_del_addr is executed for the given entry. The reference count drops to zero and kfree_rcu is scheduled. 3. ipv6_get_ifaddr continues and tries to increments the reference count (in6_ifa_hold). 4. The rcu is unlocked and the entry is freed. 5. The freed entry is returned. Prevent increasing of the reference count in such case. The name in6_ifa_hold_safe is chosen to mimic the existing fib6_info_hold_safe. [ 41.506330] refcount_t: addition on 0; use-after-free. CVE-2024-35958 3 Debian, Linux, Redhat 7 Debian Linux, Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux and 4 more 2026-08-04 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: ena: Fix incorrect descriptor free behavior ENA has two types of TX queues: - queues which only process TX packets arriving from the network stack - queues which only process TX packets forwarded to it by XDP_REDIRECT or XDP_TX instructions The ena_free_tx_bufs() cycles through all descriptors in a TX queue and unmaps + frees every descriptor that hasn't been acknowledged yet by the device (uncompleted TX transactions). The function assumes that the processed TX queue is necessarily from the first category listed above and ends up using napi_consume_skb() for descriptors belonging to an XDP specific queue. This patch solves a bug in which, in case of a VF reset, the descriptors aren't freed correctly, leading to crashes.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: gro: fix ownership transfer If packets are GROed with fraglist they might be segmented later on and continue their journey in the stack. In skb_segment_list those skbs can be reused as-is. This is an issue as their destructor was removed in skb_gro_receive_list but not the reference to their socket, and then they can't be orphaned. Fix this by also removing the reference to the socket. For example this could be observed, kernel BUG at include/linux/skbuff.h:3131! CVE-2024-35884 3 Debian, Linux, Redhat 7 Debian Linux, Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux and 4 more 2026-08-04 9.8 Critical
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: udp: do not accept non-tunnel GSO skbs landing in a tunnel When rx-udp-gro-forwarding is enabled UDP packets might be GROed when being forwarded. If such packets might land in a tunnel this can cause various issues and udp_gro_receive makes sure this isn't the case by looking for a matching socket. This is performed in udp4/6_gro_lookup_skb but only in the current netns. This is an issue with tunneled packets when the endpoint is in another netns. In such cases the packets will be GROed at the UDP level, which leads to various issues later on. The same thing can happen with rx-gro-list. We saw this with geneve packets being GROed at the UDP level. In such case gso_size is set; later the packet goes through the geneve rx path, the geneve header is pulled, the offset are adjusted and frag_list skbs are not adjusted with regard to geneve. When those skbs hit skb_fragment, it will misbehave. Different outcomes are possible depending on what the GROed skbs look like; from corrupted packets to kernel crashes. One example is a BUG_ON[1] triggered in skb_segment while processing the frag_list. Because gso_size is wrong (geneve header was pulled) skb_segment thinks there is "geneve header size" of data in frag_list, although it's in fact the next packet. The BUG_ON itself has nothing to do with the issue. This is only one of the potential issues. Looking up for a matching socket in udp_gro_receive is fragile: the lookup could be extended to all netns (not speaking about performances) but nothing prevents those packets from being modified in between and we could still not find a matching socket. It's OK to keep the current logic there as it should cover most cases but we also need to make sure we handle tunnel packets being GROed too early. This is done by extending the checks in udp_unexpected_gso: GSO packets lacking the SKB_GSO_UDP_TUNNEL/_CSUM bits and landing in a tunnel must be segmented. [1] kernel BUG at net/core/skbuff.c:4408! At this point, unix_inflight() can not happen because unix_gc_lock is already taken. Inflight graph remains unaffected.

Add check on nfs4_listxattr() to return ERANGE error when it is called with size > 0 and the return value is greater than size.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: i40e: Do not allow untrusted VF to remove administratively set MAC Currently when PF administratively sets VF's MAC address and the VF is put down (VF tries to delete all MACs) then the MAC is removed from MAC filters and primary VF MAC is zeroed. Do not allow untrusted VF to remove primary MAC when it was set administratively by PF. Reproducer: 1) Create VF 2) Set VF interface up 3) Administratively set the VF's MAC 4) Put VF interface down [root@host ~]# echo 1 > /sys/class/net/enp2s0f0/device/sriov_numvfs [root@host ~]# ip link set enp2s0f0v0 up [root@host ~]# ip link set enp2s0f0 vf 0 mac fe:6c:b5:da:c7:7d [root@host ~]# ip link show enp2s0f0 23: enp2s0f0: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 1500 qdisc mq state UP mode DEFAULT group default qlen 1000 link/ether 3c:ec:ef:b7:dd:04 brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff vf 0 link/ether fe:6c:b5:da:c7:7d brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff, spoof checking on, link-state auto, trust off [root@host ~]# ip link set enp2s0f0v0 down [root@host ~]# ip link show enp2s0f0 23: enp2s0f0: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 1500 qdisc mq state UP mode DEFAULT group default qlen 1000 link/ether 3c:ec:ef:b7:dd:04 brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff vf 0 link/ether 00:00:00:00:00:00 brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff, spoof checking on, link-state auto, trust off

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mptcp: fix data re-injection from stale subflow When the MPTCP PM detects that a subflow is stale, all the packet scheduler must re-inject all the mptcp-level unacked data. To avoid acquiring unneeded locks, it first try to check if any unacked data is present at all in the RTX queue, but such check is currently broken, as it uses TCP-specific helper on an MPTCP socket. Funnily enough fuzzers and static checkers are happy, as the accessed memory still belongs to the mptcp_sock struct, and even from a functional perspective the recovery completed successfully, as the short-cut test always failed. A recent unrelated TCP change - commit d5fed5addb2b ("tcp: reorganize tcp_sock fast path variables") - exposed the issue, as the tcp field reorganization makes the mptcp code always skip the re-inection. Fix the issue dropping the bogus call: we are on a slow path, the early optimization proved once again to be evil.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: vfio/pci: Lock external INTx masking ops Mask operations through config space changes to DisINTx may race INTx configuration changes via ioctl. Create wrappers that add locking for paths outside of the core interrupt code. In particular, irq_type is updated holding igate, therefore testing is_intx() requires holding igate. For example clearing DisINTx from config space can otherwise race changes of the interrupt configuration. This aligns interfaces which may trigger the INTx eventfd into two camps, one side serialized by igate and the other only enabled while INTx is configured. A subsequent patch introduces synchronization for the latter flows.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: Avoid potential use-after-free in hci_error_reset While handling the HCI_EV_HARDWARE_ERROR event, if the underlying BT controller is not responding, the GPIO reset mechanism would free the hci_dev and lead to a use-after-free in hci_error_reset.
