| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
Input: evdev - sanitize event type index when fetching event masks
The user-supplied event type index passed to EVIOCGMASK / EVIOCSMASK
ioctls is used to index the static counts array in evdev_get_mask_cnt()
and client evmasks array in evdev_get_mask().
While the event type is architecturally bounded by EV_CNT, speculative
execution may mispredict bounds checks and perform out-of-bounds loads.
Sanitize the event type index in evdev_get_mask_cnt() branchlessly using
array_index_mask_nospec(). This clamps the index to 0 for safe array
access and forces the returned count to 0 speculatively when the index
is out of bounds.
We do not need additional array_index_nospec() calls in evdev_get_mask()
because evdev_get_mask_cnt() speculatively forces the count (and
resulting xfer_size) to 0 for out-of-bounds types, preventing any
speculative memory access to client evmasks array. |
| Lemmy is a link aggregator and forum for the fediverse. Prior to 0.19.19 and 1.0.0-beta.1, Lemmy's login endpoint in crates/api/api/src/local_user/login.rs returns different errors depending on whether the username_or_email value exists. LocalUserView::find_by_email_or_name propagates a NotFound response for an unknown account, while an existing account with a wrong password returns LemmyErrorType::IncorrectLogin. This observable response discrepancy, including HTTP 404 for a nonexistent account and HTTP 400 for an incorrect password on an existing account, allows an unauthenticated attacker to confirm registered usernames or email addresses and use the results for targeted credential attacks or social engineering. This issue is fixed in versions 0.19.19 and 1.0.0-beta.1. |

| Frappe is a full-stack web application framework. Prior to 15.115.0 and 16.27.0, the public request-data web form and PersonalDataDownloadRequest class in frappe/website/doctype/personal_data_download_request/personal_data_download_request.py return distinguishable response shapes for registered and unregistered email addresses, including the user_name field and persistence behavior. A remote attacker can compare the responses to enumerate registered users. This issue is fixed in versions 15.115.0 and 16.27.0. |

In affected versions an error message discloses existing accounts and leads to user enumeration on the target via "Forgot password" function. No generic error message has been implemented. | Mastodon is a free, open-source social network server based on ActivityPub. Versions 4.2.27 and prior, 4.3.0-beta.1 through 4.3.14, 4.4.0-beta.1 through 4.4.9, 4.5.0-beta.1 through 4.5.2 have discrepancies in error handling which allow checking whether a given status exists by sending a request with a non-English Accept-Language header. Using this behavior, an attacker who knows the identifier of a particular status they are not allowed to see can confirm whether this status exists or not. This cannot be used to learn the contents of the status or any other property besides its existence. This issue is fixed in versions 4.2.28, 4.3.15, 4.4.10 and 4.5.3. |
