CVE-2024-40973 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-23 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: mtk-vcodec: potential null pointer deference in SCP The return value of devm_kzalloc() needs to be checked to avoid NULL pointer deference. This is similar to CVE-2022-3113.
CVE-2026-72457 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-22 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: apparmor: fail policy unpack on accept2 allocation failure unpack_pdb() may need to allocate a missing ACCEPT2 table for older policy data. If that allocation failed, it set an error message but jumped to the success path, returning a policydb with the required table missing. Return -ENOMEM through the normal failure path when the ACCEPT2 allocation fails. Remove the now-unused out label.
CVE-2026-72496 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-22 9.2 Critical
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/bnxt_re: Proper rollback if the ioremap fails bnxt_qplib_alloc_dpi returns success even if ioremap fails. Add the proper rollback when the ioremap fails and return -ENOMEM status.
CVE-2026-74362 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-22 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ext2: fix ignored return value of generic_write_sync() Fix ext2_dio_write_iter() to propagate the error returned by generic_write_sync() instead of silently discarding it, which could cause write(2) to return success to userspace on O_SYNC/O_DSYNC files even when the sync failed. The correct pattern, already used in ext2_dax_write_iter() in the same file and in ext4, xfs, f2fs among others, is: if (ret > 0) ret = generic_write_sync(iocb, ret); Found by Linux Verification Center (linuxtesting.org) with SVACE. [JK: Reflect also filemap_write_and_wait() return value]
CVE-2026-77641 1 Torproject 1 Tor 2026-08-21 6.5 Medium
tor before 0.4.9.9 was prone to a NULL write after free when sending a CONFLUX_SWITCH cell fails. The return value of relay_send_command_from_edge() was ignored, so a send failure (which calls circuit_mark_for_close() and removes the leg via cfx_del_leg()) would go undetected, causing the caller to write to the now-freed current leg and resulting in a crash. This is TROVE-2026-017.
CVE-2026-62909 3 Apple, Linux, Microsoft 8 Macos, Linux Kernel, .net and 5 more 2026-08-17 7.8 High
Uncaught exception in .NET allows an authorized attacker to elevate privileges locally.
CVE-2026-74308 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-17 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ext4: fix kernel BUG in ext4_write_inline_data_end When the data=journal mount option is used, the ext4_journalled_write_end() function incorrectly calls ext4_write_inline_data_end() without checking if the EXT4_STATE_MAY_INLINE_DATA flag is still set on the inode. If a previous attempt to convert the inline data to an extent failed (e.g. due to ENOSPC), the EXT4_STATE_MAY_INLINE_DATA flag is cleared, but the EXT4_INODE_INLINE_DATA flag remains set. In this scenario, the next call to ext4_write_begin() will not prepare the inline data xattr for writing, but ext4_journalled_write_end() will incorrectly attempt to write to it, triggering a BUG_ON(pos + len > EXT4_I(inode)->i_inline_size) in ext4_write_inline_data() since i_inline_size was not expanded. Fix this by ensuring that ext4_journalled_write_end() only calls ext4_write_inline_data_end() if the EXT4_STATE_MAY_INLINE_DATA flag is set, mirroring the behavior of ext4_write_end() and ext4_da_write_end().
CVE-2026-63864 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-07-27 8.4 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Propagate error from visit_tailcall_insn Commit e40f5a6bf88a ("bpf: correct stack liveness for tail calls") added visit_tailcall_insn() but did not check its return value.
CVE-2026-52922 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-28 7.5 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: batman-adv: dat: handle forward allocation error batadv_dat_forward_data() calls pskb_copy_for_clone() to duplicate an skb for each DHT candidate, but does not check the return value before passing it to batadv_send_skb_prepare_unicast_4addr(). That function dereferences the skb unconditionally, so a failed allocation triggers a NULL pointer dereference. Skip forwarding to the current DHT candidate on allocation failure.
CVE-2025-22026 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-19 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfsd: don't ignore the return code of svc_proc_register() Currently, nfsd_proc_stat_init() ignores the return value of svc_proc_register(). If the procfile creation fails, then the kernel will WARN when it tries to remove the entry later. Fix nfsd_proc_stat_init() to return the same type of pointer as svc_proc_register(), and fix up nfsd_net_init() to check that and fail the nfsd_net construction if it occurs. svc_proc_register() can fail if the dentry can't be allocated, or if an identical dentry already exists. The second case is pretty unlikely in the nfsd_net construction codepath, so if this happens, return -ENOMEM.
CVE-2026-45969 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-16 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: HID: playstation: Add missing check for input_ff_create_memless The ps_gamepad_create() function calls input_ff_create_memless() without verifying its return value, which can lead to incorrect behavior or potential crashes when FF effects are triggered. Add a check for the return value of input_ff_create_memless().
CVE-2026-46235 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-10 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: saa7164: add ioremap return checks and cleanups Add checks for ioremap return values in saa7164_dev_setup(). If ioremap for BAR0 or BAR2 fails, release the already allocated PCI memory regions, remove the device from the global list, decrement the device count, and return -ENODEV. This prevents potential null pointer dereferences and ensures proper cleanup on memory mapping failures.
CVE-2026-43072 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-01 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/vc4: platform_get_irq_byname() returns an int platform_get_irq_byname() will return a negative value if an error happens, so it should be checked and not just passed directly into devm_request_threaded_irq() hoping all will be ok.
CVE-2026-43139 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-05-13 8.6 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xfrm6: fix uninitialized saddr in xfrm6_get_saddr() xfrm6_get_saddr() does not check the return value of ipv6_dev_get_saddr(). When ipv6_dev_get_saddr() fails to find a suitable source address (returns -EADDRNOTAVAIL), saddr->in6 is left uninitialized, but xfrm6_get_saddr() still returns 0 (success). This causes the caller xfrm_tmpl_resolve_one() to use the uninitialized address in xfrm_state_find(), triggering KMSAN warning: ===================================================== BUG: KMSAN: uninit-value in xfrm_state_find+0x2424/0xa940 xfrm_state_find+0x2424/0xa940 xfrm_resolve_and_create_bundle+0x906/0x5a20 xfrm_lookup_with_ifid+0xcc0/0x3770 xfrm_lookup_route+0x63/0x2b0 ip_route_output_flow+0x1ce/0x270 udp_sendmsg+0x2ce1/0x3400 inet_sendmsg+0x1ef/0x2a0 __sock_sendmsg+0x278/0x3d0 __sys_sendto+0x593/0x720 __x64_sys_sendto+0x130/0x200 x64_sys_call+0x332b/0x3e70 do_syscall_64+0xd3/0xf80 entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x77/0x7f Local variable tmp.i.i created at: xfrm_resolve_and_create_bundle+0x3e3/0x5a20 xfrm_lookup_with_ifid+0xcc0/0x3770 ===================================================== Fix by checking the return value of ipv6_dev_get_saddr() and propagating the error.
CVE-2026-43123 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-05-12 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fbcon: check return value of con2fb_acquire_newinfo() If fbcon_open() fails when called from con2fb_acquire_newinfo() then info->fbcon_par pointer remains NULL which is later dereferenced. Add check for return value of the function con2fb_acquire_newinfo() to avoid it. Found by Linux Verification Center (linuxtesting.org) with SVACE.
CVE-2025-22116 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-04-28 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: idpf: check error for register_netdev() on init Current init logic ignores the error code from register_netdev(), which will cause WARN_ON() on attempt to unregister it, if there was one, and there is no info for the user that the creation of the netdev failed. WARNING: CPU: 89 PID: 6902 at net/core/dev.c:11512 unregister_netdevice_many_notify+0x211/0x1a10 ... On removal make sure to check VPORT_REG_NETDEV flag prior to calling unregister and free on the netdev. Add local variables for idx, vport_config and netdev for readability.
CVE-2026-31646 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-04-27 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: lan966x: fix page_pool error handling in lan966x_fdma_rx_alloc_page_pool() page_pool_create() can return an ERR_PTR on failure. The return value is used unconditionally in the loop that follows, passing the error pointer through xdp_rxq_info_reg_mem_model() into page_pool_use_xdp_mem(), which dereferences it, causing a kernel oops. Add an IS_ERR check after page_pool_create() to return early on failure.
CVE-2024-46715 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-04-18 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: driver: iio: add missing checks on iio_info's callback access Some callbacks from iio_info structure are accessed without any check, so if a driver doesn't implement them trying to access the corresponding sysfs entries produce a kernel oops such as: [ 2203.527791] Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address 00000000 when execute [...] [ 2203.783416] Call trace: [ 2203.783429] iio_read_channel_info_avail from dev_attr_show+0x18/0x48 [ 2203.789807] dev_attr_show from sysfs_kf_seq_show+0x90/0x120 [ 2203.794181] sysfs_kf_seq_show from seq_read_iter+0xd0/0x4e4 [ 2203.798555] seq_read_iter from vfs_read+0x238/0x2a0 [ 2203.802236] vfs_read from ksys_read+0xa4/0xd4 [ 2203.805385] ksys_read from ret_fast_syscall+0x0/0x54 [ 2203.809135] Exception stack(0xe0badfa8 to 0xe0badff0) [ 2203.812880] dfa0: 00000003 b6f10f80 00000003 b6eab000 00020000 00000000 [ 2203.819746] dfc0: 00000003 b6f10f80 7ff00000 00000003 00000003 00000000 00020000 00000000 [ 2203.826619] dfe0: b6e1bc88 bed80958 b6e1bc94 b6e1bcb0 [ 2203.830363] Code: bad PC value [ 2203.832695] ---[ end trace 0000000000000000 ]---
CVE-2026-0723 1 Gitlab 1 Gitlab 2026-04-18 7.4 High
GitLab has remediated an issue in GitLab CE/EE affecting all versions from 18.6 before 18.6.4, 18.7 before 18.7.2, and 18.8 before 18.8.2 that could have allowed an individual with existing knowledge of a victim's credential ID to bypass two-factor authentication by submitting forged device responses.
CVE-2024-45775 1 Redhat 2 Enterprise Linux, Openshift 2026-01-29 5.2 Medium
A flaw was found in grub2 where the grub_extcmd_dispatcher() function calls grub_arg_list_alloc() to allocate memory for the grub's argument list. However, it fails to check in case the memory allocation fails. Once the allocation fails, a NULL point will be processed by the parse_option() function, leading grub to crash or, in some rare scenarios, corrupt the IVT data.
