CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
vhost: fix vhost_get_avail_idx for a non empty ring
vhost_get_avail_idx is supposed to report whether it has updated
vq->avail_idx. Instead, it returns whether all entries have been
consumed, which is usually the same. But not always - in
drivers/vhost/net.c and when mergeable buffers have been enabled, the
driver checks whether the combined entries are big enough to store an
incoming packet. If not, the driver re-enables notifications with
available entries still in the ring. The incorrect return value from
vhost_get_avail_idx propagates through vhost_enable_notify and causes
the host to livelock if the guest is not making progress, as vhost will
immediately disable notifications and retry using the available entries.
This goes back to commit d3bb267bbdcb ("vhost: cache avail index in
vhost_enable_notify()") which changed vhost_enable_notify() to compare
the freshly read avail index against vq->last_avail_idx instead of the
previously cached vq->avail_idx. Commit 7ad472397667 ("vhost: move
smp_rmb() into vhost_get_avail_idx()") then carried over the same
comparison when refactoring vhost_enable_notify() to call the unified
vhost_get_avail_idx().
The obvious fix is to make vhost_get_avail_idx do what the comment
says it does and report whether new entries have been added. |
| Adminer multi_query Incorrect Check of Function Return Value Remote Code Execution Vulnerability. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of Adminer. Authentication is required to exploit this vulnerability.
The specific flaw exists within the multi_query method. The issue results from an incorrect check of a function return value. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of the web server. Was ZDI-CAN-28201. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
bpf: Fix ld_{abs,ind} failure path analysis in subprogs
Usage of ld_{abs,ind} instructions got extended into subprogs some time
ago via commit 09b28d76eac4 ("bpf: Add abnormal return checks."). These
are only allowed in subprograms when the latter are BTF annotated and
have scalar return types.
The code generator in bpf_gen_ld_abs() has an abnormal exit path (r0=0 +
exit) from legacy cBPF times. While the enforcement is on scalar return
types, the verifier must also simulate the path of abnormal exit if the
packet data load via ld_{abs,ind} failed.
This is currently not the case. Fix it by having the verifier simulate
both success and failure paths, and extend it in similar ways as we do
for tail calls. The success path (r0=unknown, continue to next insn) is
pushed onto stack for later validation and the r0=0 and return to the
caller is done on the fall-through side. |

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
dma-mapping: move dma_map_resource() sanity check into debug code
dma_map_resource() uses pfn_valid() to ensure the range is not RAM.
However, pfn_valid() only checks for availability of the memory map for
a PFN but it does not ensure that the PFN is actually backed by RAM. On
ARM64 with SPARSEMEM (128MB section granularity), MMIO addresses that
share a section with RAM will falsely trigger the WARN_ON_ONCE and cause
dma_map_resource() to return DMA_MAPPING_ERROR.
This causes a WARNING on Raspberry Pi 4 during spi_bcm2835 probe because
the SPI FIFO register (0xfe204004) falls in the same sparsemem section
as the end of RAM (0xf8000000-0xfbffffff), both in section 31
(0xf8000000-0xffffffff).
Move the sanity check from dma_map_resource() into debug_dma_map_phys()
and replace the unreliable pfn_valid() with pfn_valid() &&
!PageReserved(), which correctly identifies actual usable RAM without
false positives for MMIO regions that happen to have struct pages.
Since dma_map_resource() is dma_map_phys(DMA_ATTR_MMIO), the check
applies equally to both APIs. Any non-reserved page represents kernel
memory to a sufficient degree that using DMA_ATTR_MMIO on it is almost
certainly wrong and risks breaking coherency on non-coherent platforms.
ZONE_DEVICE pages used for PCI P2P DMA (MEMORY_DEVICE_PCI_P2PDMA) have
PageReserved set, so they will not trigger a false positive.
The check no longer blocks the mapping and uses err_printk() to
integrate with dma-debug filtering. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/msm: Fix iommu_map_sgtable() return value check and avoid WARN
Commit "iommu: return full error code from iommu_map_sg[_atomic]()"
changed iommu_map_sgtable() to return an ssize_t and negative values
in error cases, rather than a size_t and a zero.
Store the return value in the appropriate type and in case of error,
return it rather than WARNing.

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
sysfs: don't remove existing directory on update failure
When sysfs_update_group() is called for a named group and create_files()
fails (e.g. -ENOMEM), internal_create_group() calls kernfs_remove(kn) on
the group directory. In the update path, kn was obtained via
kernfs_find_and_get() and refers to a directory that already existed
before this call. Removing it silently destroys a sysfs group that the
caller did not create.
Only remove the directory if we created it ourselves. On update failure
the directory remains as it is left empty by remove_files() inside
create_files(), but can be repopulated by a retry. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
wifi: ath12k: Fix invalid data access in ath12k_dp_rx_h_undecap_nwifi
In certain cases, hardware might provide packets with a
length greater than the maximum native Wi-Fi header length.
This can lead to accessing and modifying fields in the header
within the ath12k_dp_rx_h_undecap_nwifi function for
DP_RX_DECAP_TYPE_NATIVE_WIFI decap type and
potentially resulting in invalid data access and memory corruption.
Add a sanity check before processing the SKB to prevent invalid
data access in the undecap native Wi-Fi function for the
DP_RX_DECAP_TYPE_NATIVE_WIFI decap type.
Tested-on: QCN9274 hw2.0 PCI WLAN.WBE.1.3.1-00173-QCAHKSWPL_SILICONZ-1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: phonet: do not BUG_ON() in pn_socket_autobind() on failed bind
syzbot reported a kernel BUG triggered from pn_socket_sendmsg() via
pn_socket_autobind():
kernel BUG at net/phonet/socket.c:213!
RIP: 0010:pn_socket_autobind net/phonet/socket.c:213 [inline]
RIP: 0010:pn_socket_sendmsg+0x240/0x250 net/phonet/socket.c:421

...
pn_socket_autobind() calls pn_socket_bind() with port 0 and, on
-EINVAL, assumes the socket was already bound and asserts that the
port is non-zero:
err = pn_socket_bind(sock, ..., sizeof(struct sockaddr_pn));
if (err != -EINVAL)
return err;
BUG_ON(!pn_port(pn_sk(sock->sk)->sobject));
return 0; /* socket was already bound */
However pn_socket_bind() also returns -EINVAL when sk->sk_state is not
TCP_CLOSE, even when the socket has never been bound and pn_port() is
still 0. In that case the BUG_ON() fires and panics the kernel from a
user-triggerable path.
Treat the "bind returned -EINVAL but pn_port() is still 0" case as a
regular error and propagate -EINVAL to the caller instead of crashing.
Existing callers already translate a non-zero return from
pn_socket_autobind() into -ENOBUFS/-EAGAIN, so returning -EINVAL here
only changes behaviour from panic to a normal errno. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ovl: keep err zero after successful ovl_cache_get()
ovl_iterate_merged() stores PTR_ERR(cache) in err before checking
IS_ERR(cache). On success err holds the truncated cache pointer and
can be returned as a bogus non-zero error.
The syzbot reproducer reaches this through overlay-on-overlay readdir:
getdents64
iterate_dir(outer overlay file)
ovl_iterate_merged()
ovl_cache_get()
ovl_dir_read_merged()
ovl_dir_read()
iterate_dir(inner overlay file)
ovl_iterate_merged()
Only compute PTR_ERR(cache) on the error path. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ipv4: icmp: fix null-ptr-deref in icmp_build_probe()
ipv6_stub->ipv6_dev_find() may return ERR_PTR(-EAFNOSUPPORT) when the
IPv6 stack is not active (CONFIG_IPV6=m and not loaded), and passing
this error pointer to dev_hold() will cause a kernel crash with
null-ptr-deref.
Instead, silently discard the request. RFC 8335 does not appear to
define a specific response for the case where an IPv6 interface
identifier is syntactically valid but the implementation cannot perform
the lookup at runtime, and silently dropping the request may safer than
misreporting "No Such Interface". |
| A flaw was found in Corosync. A remote unauthenticated attacker can exploit a wrong return value vulnerability in the Corosync membership commit token sanity check by sending a specially crafted User Datagram Protocol (UDP) packet. This can lead to an out-of-bounds read, causing a denial of service (DoS) and potentially disclosing limited memory contents |

__disarm_kprobe_ftrace() and skip all ftrace related operations. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
pstore: ram_core: fix incorrect success return when vmap() fails
In persistent_ram_vmap(), vmap() may return NULL on failure.
If offset is non-zero, adding offset_in_page(start) causes the function
to return a non-NULL pointer even though the mapping failed.
persistent_ram_buffer_map() therefore incorrectly returns success.
Subsequent access to prz->buffer may dereference an invalid address
and cause crashes.
Add proper NULL checking for vmap() failures. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
udp: Fix wildcard bind conflict check when using hash2
When binding a udp_sock to a local address and port, UDP uses
two hashes (udptable->hash and udptable->hash2) for collision
detection. The current code switches to "hash2" when
hslot->count > 10.
"hash2" is keyed by local address and local port.
"hash" is keyed by local port only.
The issue can be shown in the following bind sequence (pseudo code):
bind(fd1, "[fd00::1]:8888")
bind(fd2, "[fd00::2]:8888")
bind(fd3, "[fd00::3]:8888")
bind(fd4, "[fd00::4]:8888")
bind(fd5, "[fd00::5]:8888")
bind(fd6, "[fd00::6]:8888")
bind(fd7, "[fd00::7]:8888")
bind(fd8, "[fd00::8]:8888")
bind(fd9, "[fd00::9]:8888")
bind(fd10, "[fd00::10]:8888")
/* Correctly return -EADDRINUSE because "hash" is used
* instead of "hash2". udp_lib_lport_inuse() detects the
* conflict.
*/
bind(fail_fd, "[::]:8888")
/* After one more socket is bound to "[fd00::11]:8888",
* hslot->count exceeds 10 and "hash2" is used instead.
*/
bind(fd11, "[fd00::11]:8888")
bind(fail_fd, "[::]:8888") /* succeeds unexpectedly */
The same issue applies to the IPv4 wildcard address "0.0.0.0"
and the IPv4-mapped wildcard address "::ffff:0.0.0.0". For
example, if there are existing sockets bound to
"192.168.1.[1-11]:8888", then binding "0.0.0.0:8888" or
"[::ffff:0.0.0.0]:8888" can also miss the conflict when
hslot->count > 10.
TCP inet_csk_get_port() already has the correct check in
inet_use_bhash2_on_bind(). Rename it to
inet_use_hash2_on_bind() and move it to inet_hashtables.h
so udp.c can reuse it in this fix. |
| The vulnerability stems from an incorrect error-checking logic in the CreateCounter() function (in threadx/utility/rtos_compatibility_layers/OSEK/tx_osek.c) when handling the return value of osek_get_counter(). Specifically, the current code checks if cntr_id equals 0u to determine failure, but @osek_get_counter() actually returns E_OS_SYS_STACK (defined as 12U) when it fails. This mismatch causes the error branch to never execute even when the counter pool is exhausted.
As a result, when the counter pool is depleted, the code proceeds to cast the error code (12U) to a pointer (OSEK_COUNTER *), creating a wild pointer. Subsequent writes to members of this pointer lead to writes to illegal memory addresses (e.g., 0x0000000C), which can trigger immediate HardFaults or silent memory corruption.
This vulnerability poses significant risks, including potential denial-of-service attacks (via repeated calls to exhaust the counter pool) and unauthorized memory access. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
NFSD: Fix NFSv3 SETATTR/CREATE's handling of large file sizes
iattr::ia_size is a loff_t, so these NFSv3 procedures must be
careful to deal with incoming client size values that are larger
than s64_max without corrupting the value.
Silently capping the value results in storing a different value
than the client passed in which is unexpected behavior, so remove
the min_t() check in decode_sattr3().
Note that RFC 1813 permits only the WRITE procedure to return
NFS3ERR_FBIG. We believe that NFSv3 reference implementations
also return NFS3ERR_FBIG when ia_size is too large. |
| A security flaw has been discovered in GNU Binutils 2.45. Impacted is the function tg_tag_type of the file prdbg.c. Performing manipulation results in unchecked return value. The attack needs to be approached locally. The exploit has been released to the public and may be exploited. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
virtiofs: add filesystem context source name check
In certain scenarios, for example, during fuzz testing, the source
name may be NULL, which could lead to a kernel panic. Therefore, an
extra check for the source name should be added. |
| A bug in Apache HTTP Server 2.4.64 results in all "RewriteCond expr ..." tests evaluating as "true".
Users are recommended to upgrade to version 2.4.65, which fixes the issue. |
