In Cisco Talos Intelligence for Enterprise Security Cloud versions below 1.0.3, a user that holds a role with the get_talos_enrichment capability could send a crafted request to the Talos intelligence enrichment Representational State Transfer (REST) API endpoint and cause the instance to make an outbound request to an attacker-controlled server. The request could expose tokens that compromise all relevant data and system integrity in the Splunk instance. The vulnerability is possible because the Talos intelligence enrichment REST endpoint accepts the destination for authenticated Splunk management requests from request data. In Cisco Talos Intelligence for Enterprise Security Cloud versions below 1.0.3, an unauthenticated user could access the add-on OpenAPI specification through Splunk Web static file paths. The exposed specification could allow for reconnaissance of the add-on Representational State Transfer (REST) API endpoints and authentication model. The vulnerability is possible because the generated OpenAPI specification is packaged in a static file path that Splunk Web serves without authentication. A vulnerability in the Snort 2 and Snort 3 deep packet inspection of Cisco Secure Firewall Threat Defense (FTD) Software could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to bypass configured Snort rules and allow traffic onto the network that should have been dropped. This vulnerability is due to a logic error in the integration of the Snort Engine rules with Cisco Secure FTD Software that could allow different Snort rules to be hit when deep inspection of the packet is performed for the inner and outer connections. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending crafted traffic to a targeted device that would hit configured Snort rules. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to send traffic to a network where it should have been denied.

A vulnerability in the Sourcefire tunnel control channel protocol in Cisco Firepower System Software running on Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) sensors could allow an authenticated, local attacker to execute specific CLI commands with root privileges on the Cisco Firepower Management Center (FMC), or through Cisco FMC on other Firepower sensors and devices that are controlled by the same Cisco FMC. To send the commands, the attacker must have root privileges for at least one affected sensor or the Cisco FMC. The vulnerability exists because the affected software performs insufficient checks for certain CLI commands, if the commands are executed via a Sourcefire tunnel connection. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by authenticating with root privileges to a Firepower sensor or Cisco FMC, and then sending specific CLI commands to the Cisco FMC or through the Cisco FMC to another Firepower sensor via the Sourcefire tunnel connection. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to modify device configurations or delete files on the device that is running Cisco FMC Software or on any Firepower device that is managed by Cisco FMC.
